Calthorpe Project
As part of our project at The People's Supermarket we are photographing the suppliers, who vary from huge warehouses to individuals who grow herbs in their garden.
Last Friday and today we visited the Calthorpe Project who supply the supermarket with salad bags. These 'suppliers' are a group of mainly South American volunteers who look after the salad garden and pick beautiful salads, herbs and edible flowers, bag them and take them to the Supermarket to be sold.
I have never seen such care been taken over salad before, the bags looked so beautiful that it's almost a shame to eat it!

Hel Yes!
Last Friday we went to Hel Yes! in London - It is (or was) a pop up Finnish restaurant in Islington. We had a delicious meal - our mains were neck of lamb and forest mushrooms with a poached egg..
The restaurant was in an old warehouse with the kitchen in the centre so you could see the chefs at work, tables were specifically designed and the tablewear was a combination of different Finnish design - it was well worth a visit.

Bulldog Camera
We were given a great present recently - a 5x4 bulldog camera. It comes as a flatpack which you assemble using glue - relatively easy, however some bits were missing and we were left with parts that didn't appear to go anywhere .... but it works! The bulldog camera takes Linhof lense boards and is really light to carry around, so we can't wait to test it out on a project soon.

The People's Supermarket
Some weeks ago we came across this great new supermarket on Lambs Conduit Street in London. It is run by members who volunteer their time to run the shop. The food they sell is good quality, the prices are low and the service is friendly - what more can you ask for from a supermarket!!
We've been taking photos of the People's Supermarket and their members and hope to be doing some more collaboration with them over the coming months.

Ax-les-Thermes
There was one day on our trip that didn't look too sunny so we thought that we will make for the mountains - more precisely Ax-les-Thermes where we had been a few years previously and loved it. We were faced with serious rainfall and thick smog, but also stunning when it lifted...we have to hope that when Tour de France tackle these steep mountains they have better luck with the weather as it could be treacherous if not...

A PICNIC with CABE
We had a great little job with CABE last week to promote their Decent Homes publication which was launched this Tuesday: http://www.cabe.org.uk/news/community-green
The project was really good fun which took us to three locations across London - one where a dog tried to pee on our letters...something we were expecting..not that the owner of the dog was encouraging him to do so...
Here are some of the photos from the shoot
